    Let's talk about truth.

    Is truth relative or absolute?

Can there be more than one form of the truth?

Can there be two conflicting or opposing views or 'truths' - but they are both the truth?

Is there a 'universal truth?' What is it?
Is there really or universal truth or just what humans are prone and/or indoctrinated to do?

Is one truth more valid than the other?

Do you really know the difference between fact and opinion, and does either of those have anything to do with TRUTH?

In the Spirit of Sankofa and Real Truth!

Okay, here we go, deep sea diving...this topic fits your mindset well sister medusanegrita, quite well; let me give it a stab.

Once reality is determined, truth confirms reality and it exists, and truth is constant. So, the problem is not what is truth, but more an issue of definng what is real. Any and everything real is truth, for it exists.

back in the days children were taught from 4th grade to senior junior high school, how to cross reference information, from 4 serious resources to determine what is subtantial and what is sprurious, and that long before the computer age

I think that there is one truth and several perceptions of the truth. The idea that truth is one is what makes it so powerful, imo.

I think that most truths are only knowable to a certain extent. It is the degree of uncertainty that exist which gives me such profound respect for the different perceptions of it.

Truth is relative. Facts are absolute.

Yes. A fact is based on concrete, provable data. While the truth is a variable. Many different kinds of truth can be formed based on one fact. For example, let's assume it's 70 degrees outside. That would be a fact that can easily be measured and proven with a thermometer. I put on a jacket because the truth is that I am chilly. You however, take off your jacket because the truth is that you are warm. The "truth", that it is both chilly and warm seem to clearly conflict each other, yet both are true. One is your truth, the other is my truth.

There are definitely universal facts. Universal truth however, is not so easy to define. It would have to be something that everybody (or an overwhelming majority of people) thought was the absolute truth. And there are very, very few things, if any, that fall within that category.

One could say that the most valid truth is the one that can be backed up and supported with the most facts. On the other hand, who determines what's valid? Validity in and of itself is relative. What's valid to me may not be valid to you.

Your opinion is based on your own personal truth, one which may or may not have basis in fact.

Truths are like dichotomies and facts are subjective -

    Example:

Fact: Women are the only ones that can have babies.

This so-called fact is subjective because a hermaphrodite can have a baby as well. Hermaphrodite having both male and female organs. Again, we don't know what really exist in the broader schema of things out side of this world - so what we call facts here on these plans may be merely illusions of what appears to be absolute.

    Example:

Truth: I love the way beer makes me feel.

This so-called truth is a dichotomy in a sense because I hate how beer makes me feel a few hours after drinking it. Both are true but with opposing views yet coming from the same source.

    Peace

Personally i have come to the conclusion that there is no Absolute truth, at least no (not many?) human beings have ever found it.

It is probably relative, just like facts are.
In this illusion we exist in there is reality, yet in the reality we exist in there is also illusion.

There are probably many states of reality as there are many states of illusion
and facts are what we determine to explain our reality or illusion.
