their two souls were
already fully engaged
in the flames
before either could
extricate themselves
from the inevitable

truth

their fear was
not the burning

but never knowing
love ~

their joy was
now bound together
with pain

and they were made
more pure
for the experience

they'd been
singed to their
very nostril hairs

they were survivors
who lived to tell
about withstanding
the heat

who will one day return
to dust

while their souls soar
into the heavens
fully engaged in the
flames

wow Hadassah
such an encouraging peace!!!

while i don't usually stop to share
exactly what a peace did for me
i am this time ... cause it seems
a little different than what you
probably intended ... perhaps ...

in spite of the fire
perhaps even
because of the fire
i must keep moving
forward
feeling it singe
burn me
but i must not stop
taking the fire with me
the trials
the tribulations
the hard times
drag them along
to where i am going
arriving there
perhaps a little burnt
a little singed
but i will be there

thank you for this
