Peace beloved, a brother I knew well...
a Genius and Giant, now free from his shell.
I remember when it was You and I...
dancing the rhythm of life...
Street Songs with Mary Jane...
now you've gone to another plane.

No one understood the turmoil or pain,
the demons inside bordering on insane...
and yet through the Fire and Desire,
with soul our lives you flooded...
testimony of your spirit, never Cold Blooded.

She Was Only 17 and you weren't the blame,
but I related to your words all the same.
You left much too soon, and many confused...
cause and effect of your lifestyle often abused.
You weren't Mr. Policeman but a confessed Superfreak,
a reflection of many, the strong and the weak.

I remember when we were hanging on L Seven,
just one step from hell and two from heaven.
Hey bro, I've tears in my eyes...
and in recollection I can only ask why ?...
But no matter what they say,
or how they bounce your name....
I'll remember when it was You and I,
my Brother Rick James.

Love Ya.

well done smoothly said
of a great brutha we had
as he now rest in peace
into a comfort sleep
no more stress or hearts
to contest an icon singer
his lovin memories will
forever linger ...............
he bustin out ! going home

R.I.P

Keita ,Your sentiments are in alignment with mine
Rick James was genius and should of had more time
But now some souls will plant his soul and call him best
We will all have our turn to sleep in this earth and feel his rest!

Great poem you have made
Now go and seize a great day
