This has to be the most senseless tragedy in a long time.

Tis past Friday the driver of a MetroLink commuter train ran a red light while he was reading a text message and crashed head on into a freight train.. So many people died that day and many more in critical condition over a text message that probably wasn't about nothing.

Please yawl. Leave your cell phones in your bag when you are driving. You are not the president. The world won't come to an end if you miss your calls. And you are not a doctor. Nobody's going to die if they can't reach you. So keep your eyes on the road.

My mother lives in California. Yes, it will take months before they come up with the official story. Knowamsane? But moms said they think he was reading a text message and ran a red light. I used to ride the Metrolink all the time and there is a secdction where it runs past Cal state Los Angeles parallel to the 10 freeway where there is only one track so trains have to really coordinate their coming and going but I don't know if that's where they were. Probably they were and the red light the driver missed was the light that would have told him to wait and let the freight train come down the track. If he had stopped the freight train could have passed that section and come to the place where it could switch tracks. She said they were on the same track and ran head on into each other.
