    Tired
    Just tired
    Not the kind of tired
    that sleep helps
    too tired to rhyme
    in every other line
    So moon June and spoon
    may appear at any time
This is the kind of tired
that defies the concept of 40 winks
The kind that makes bones creak
    cause they're so weak
So tired I'm more fond of going through
the motions, cause I'm too tired to speak

    Tired
    I'm tried of arguing
    trying to prove my point
which has proven to be for naught
Might as well be talking to the wall
for all the good that has wrought
    Tired of pain
the bed of thorns I try to cover
with a blanket of rose buds
the hot coals upon which I trod
Outwardly I pretend I'm walking on clouds
Inwardly I chant Oh my God

I'd like to spend some time just being
    I just wanna..just be
Just be the core of me
    The core
Without all the mistakes, the irony,
the often started but unfinished symphony
    Exhausted tales
of being down on my luck
makes it seem like I just don't
    give a ....
    I do... it's just that I'm
    Tired

    I do realize that
I won't always feel this way
    God does answer prayer
    The seeds of rejuvenation
will be planted within all I do and say
    I will blossom with determination
    To rise above this situation

    This I realize
    Yes, this I do know
    But right now
I guess I'm just too tired
    to see it
    That glimmer
    that faint light showing
    the end of the tunnel
Yes, I know it's still glowing
I really did have a witty way to end this scribe
A middle aged moment, perhaps, oh dear
I guess I'm too tired to remember what it was
So I'll just end this piece right here...

    sometimes it be's like that...

...just too tired to continue in the tiredness of the moment...coz the moment should have ended so long ago. I KNOW. just remember that PEACE is around the next bend...and THE RIVER will take you there.

    let the river flow.

    In the Spirit of Sankofa!

    watzinaname,

There you go again, my inner conscious! You do this to me every time, but I love you for it, I really do. Now I know that this piece is your mind-set, and your feelings. But why is it that you reflect my inner conscious, don’t answer, remember, you have already explained this to me, and I got it; just had to let you know that I can’t help but to feel you, down deep(triniti424) into the inwards parts of the soul. And I can’t hold back from letting you know that it’s, me too! sweet apple* pie, recently, and Tha-Emissary, plus you, of course have a way, or window, if you will, to my soul. Even Roxanne, the most recent, follows the same line. Now, I have said it once, but I must say it again, I’m gonna have to back off of the poets/poetess’ for a minute. I’m telling you because I know you understand. Do I hate to mentioned only certain ones, you bet ya, but if I were to name all, the post would be too long. Hyman, 1poetsought...RICH, balller, cocobutterskyn, list just goes on and on. Its too much, thats just how deep I go, honestly. Do I feel awkward, yes, but better now because its out, thank God!

I will add this: I am sick and tired of being tired!

Waz - You've captured an aspect of the human heart in this gem. Sometimes the spirit just gets tired and needs to detach for a while to regather its strength. And in today's world, this tends to come more often requiring such resolve. I love the way you constructed this work that makes its impact. Deep work here. And, by the way, get some rest. Namyh

When you're just tired ...if being tired...at the end of your rope, ...tie a knot in it, and hang on
    for
    Where there's smoke, ...there's fire
    where there's wet, there's water
so know that, at the end of every knotted Rope,
    sits the shining stars...of Hope

I sat here smh as I read the piece.
I know this "Tired" you speak of.

I'd like to spend some time just being
    I just wanna..just be
Just be the core of me
    The core
Without all the mistakes, the irony,
the often started but unfinished symphony

The above often helps me to overcome
this "Tired". Yet another of example of
the depth of your pen. Outstanding Write!!!!

    Much Luv

Brother Clyde Coger, as much as all of us are different, there are feelings that ring true for us, that unifies us. Sometimes, poetry speaks of things we've never actually had happen, sometimes it speaks of things that has actually happened to someone else, sometimes the subject matter has happened to the author in the past, and there are those times when it is occurring to the poet as he/she is writing that piece. Nothing wrong with speaking on this, and there's nothing wrong with slowing the pace down if need be. Life brings about all types of emotions, so does poetry. I appreciate you, and you won't always feel tired. Peace.
Thank you Harry Hyman for telling me what you thought of this piece, such kind, understanding words, and I am humbled. I'll get that rest eventually, much appreciated.
You humble me Sister Purple. I'm sorry that you know what this feels like, unfortunately so many do. It won't always be. Thank you so much, appreciated.
We all get there it seems Brother Rich, and yes the will is strong, I'm wondering just how strong it is. Sorry you've been in this place. Thank you for such a positive response.
Looking at those shining stars you placed Sister Queent. I thank you for your warm words of encouragement, much appreciated.
I wish you didn't know this kind of tired Sister 4EverLuv. Getting to my core has helped me in the past as well, trying to get back there. You humble me, thank you much.
