    If I wake up tomorrow
    embraced by the shadows
    cast by the sun
    I’ll simply roll over
    to bask in the light
    offered through the slats
to engage in the life of the warmth…

    If I wake up tomorrow
    and stubble my thoughts
    on the corner
    of that old photograph
    I’ve carelessly left up
    I’ll massage my wound
    with the recollection of why…

    If I wake up tomorrow
    to realize I’ve only got
    one shoe
    I’ll bronze it…mount it
and plant tulips of different hues
place them center room for all to view…

    If I wake up tomorrow
    hungered and find only
    bitter flakes
    and dried milk
    I’ll wonder over
    the purity of water
    an ice cube absentmindedly makes…

    If I wake up tomorrow
    embraced by the shadows
    cast by the sun
    I’ll simply roll over
    to bask in the light
    offered through the slats…

i didn't see pain at all, just saw her making the best of it, even if it's not coming the way she wants...looks pretty bright to me!

seeing a positive where others may see a negative...a good thing..

I like the way you presented this..sort of reminiscent..
