today
mama made steak and
turkey wings with lima beans and--
wild rice--
complimenting my senses with thank-yous
as i cut up mangoes for the salad--

the mango salad--
tart like life.

that irony never came to me--

i
experienced
my
litta bitta happy
in that kitchen today--

inhaling the scent of that good food and--
peeling those mangoes made me forget the world...
and
how
much
it sickens me.

remember, steak and lima beans and wild rice and turkey wings are all a part of the world. by the way, where's my dinner invite? a brutha do like turkey wings and things, ya know.
