    Poetic flows like warm hugs
    and milk and cookies bring
comfort to the mind that is
    so full of deep thoughts...

And the sounds of spring time
    don't rhyme with winter.
Each story has a front and end
    and a center...
    the epicenter
    of this beat
    so sweet
    so complete

And the smell of life is not in tune
    to the fragrance of death
It have you catching your breath
    no less
    most def
    slang, slides
    inside sonnets
    and love poems become
    legendary
    and we
    are
    THE
    RHYTHM
    OF A
    NEW DAY!

The poem invigorated me. The metaphors were warm and natural. What a smooth flow. Gosh gurl...you are good.

    Yo sista in poetry,

    Joyce

    a brand new beat
    to make us complete
    never give over to defeat
    we answer to the call
    get up when we fall
    basking in God's love
    that flows from above
    let him touch your soul
    make you whole
write in your heart a new song to be sung
and a new rythym of life begun

    Yes Aminata...

I was listening to some world music and decided to use that as a catalyst to write this piece. It's amazing how music and words will create their own balance...Thanks for reading!
