Dedicated to the 75 who tossed the cap with me in '73...some incredible minds and outrageous characters....as we approach our 30 year h.s. reunion ... and in memory of my boy, Arnold Hooks the notorious, RIP

    We wondered
    what would become
    of love when world
    war three broke out..

    It was inevitable
    just a matter of time
see, we all read the Bible.

    That was back in '73
    before anybody even
    heard of the new world
    order

    but I suspect it's
    been 'on the come'
    all along

the heavy boys in the think tank
and the 3 owners of the world bank
    all in cahoots

    knockin boots

    We wondered what world events
    would be the catalyst
    for the battle of
    armageddon

    We debated
    Speculated
    Postulated
    Anticipated

    ...then passed the joint
    and got wasted

    Oh we was deep

    Siting the reasons society
    needed to return
    to a theocracy cause
    ever since man left God
    there's been a failure
    in democracy

    We wondered
if there was any truth to
    the rumor that the
    revolution would not be
    televised...

    and now there's
    stark raving madness
    on the screen in
    front of our children's eyes

    by whose design?

    misinformation from the
    cradle to the casket
    Orwell wrote the answer
    to the question before
    anybody asked it

    desensitization, our way
    of life, the rule
    not the exception
    generations numbed up
    and dummied down
    by the mass deception

    we wondered
    what would become of love
    when the final conflict
    broke out...

    and if we'd even recognize
    each other and
    remember what
    it had all been about

    Alyce..

    This poem is so poignant
to me, cause of the nostalgia..
how everything is so much different
    now than it was then...
    the people who you thought
would still be here with you
are gone.....like the ghost of days
    past I journeyed with you
    thanx for this....

first Peace to you and Posse '73

The 21st Century at an accelerated pace
1973, me early 80's you the good old days
you know how we was raised
    too mature for our age

we made due, it was all good
it was all love in the hood
    it was understood

prophets and predictions see imminent doom
    the cloud looms
    don't assume
just run when you hear the BOOM

alyce i love your work this was a nice tribute to you and that time
