    Have we made it....?
    can little black girls
    and little black boys
    play with little white girls
    and little white boys?
    the ol' negroe spiritual
    .....still
    echoes in the confines
    of assembled hearts
    "Let freedom ring"
    still account...for we
    are not truly free
    I wonder if Mr. King
    could envision his dream
    through the tears
    through the heartache
    of bloodsoaked streets
    crack induced haze
    we shall overcome!
    we shall overcome!
    as we have thru all
    trials of the persecuted
    yet.....I wonder
    what would he say?
    .....I believe
    the summit's peak
    is still visible
    .....I believe
    the dream still survives
    in the culture
    in the legacy
    in the struggle
    the journey of worn feet
    continually leads a pathway
    to the horizon of hope
    we will persevere!
    we will persevere!
    we will persevere!
    "Thank God almighty"
    we will persevere!

This one moved me like the entire movement.... I lovedid it! :)

We all should know that Dr. King was bigger than the movement, and that at the same time...the "movement" was bigger than Dr. King!!

    Well written scribe~
    Always

    whut N2 said...

and, as Job did. we shall persevere through struggles and hustles...and tug-a-wars between right and wrong...life and death. when goodness arrives, we will be ready to greet and meet and march on. THANKS FOR THE WORDS.
