This is another piece that just sort of traveled from mind-to heart- then- back up to esauphagus. It’s written how I spoke it, so bare wit a brotha…….

Say Brotha……. Before you left the house,
got on your way, did you hug or thank your mother today?
Let her know, let her know…..did you let her know
that even if it don’t show….that you appreciate
the price she paid…. with her…bare hands the way….
    she paved…..for your family pad… may have….
not always been smooth, but Still.. through
faith in GOD’s will… she took what little
she had and made do……. and…..did you, did you, did you
    did you get a chance?

Did you take the time to say……Thank You?

    Thank you…..Thank You……Thank You….
To her, her, her, her, did you thank her for
    Those…. motherly deeds.of…. planting seeds on…
    hands and knees…at o’dark thirty so….
    her..her..her.. young she could feed……and
    for healing both…. sickness and wounds…. With…
home remedies…and…and…and did you, did you, did you
    did you get a chance?

Did you take the time to say “Thank You”?
Thank you Mama, Mama, My queen, My Dear Mama
    Thank you Mama…..
For the way you...no matter how severe,
Found strength, persevered…and..and..and endured the drama
through all those….. seemingly endless years of….
Blood and tears….. the numerous times…..when
inside you cried, but your umbrella of pride.. shielded us..us..us
from your fears…. The way you swore you’d die for… so ever protecting….
And always provide for….and….never ever neglecting those you hold
    Dear, Dear, Dear........ Dear…..

    (from me)

    My Dear Mama,
    Loneliness, I never fear, because
in spirit, I know you’ll always be near
But strong as I am Mama…..I wish you were here, I wish you were here
    I wish you were here Mama….right here with me Mama, yes I do…..So I could, so I would……I would…I would… I would if, If I could…I..I..I...I would say thank you…..thank you… thank you…..
And even though you’re physically not here………
with heavenly ears, I know you do hear… ….THANK YOU!!!

Dedicated to Dorothy Louise Simpson….May You Eternally R.I.P.
(“even though, knowing you, you’re up there, either holdin’ bible study with the sistas, or flippin the channels back and forth between the 700 Club, and “Dayz”)

Afrostotle..........I truly adored this piece, even the "natural" flow

If there were term coined "momma's girl" like "momma's boy"
I would be that...forever attached and unable to unlatch
and thank you for this...and yes I'm a rarity...I tell her everyday

You truly touched me with this.......Mothers really need to
know & hear how appreciative we are...it’s not enough to
assume……..oh, and I loved the dedication…that was really touching!
