Hey there family. I started a scenario toward the end of January that I'd like to bring back called:
    TAG, YOU'RE IT!!!!
In this scenario, one at a time, a poet is going to call out another poet, giving him or her 3 different possible topics to flow to, plus an added twist. The poet who is tagged chooses one of the topics, and writes a poem according to that theme. Then that poet selects 3 new topics to choose from, and TAGS another poet....and so on. :shades:

Sound like fun? I hope so, because, garlicsalt99, TAG your it. You can write about the color black, any kind of weather, or your favorite scent. The twist? Hmmmm.... Okay, I'd like you to somehow incorporate the title of one of your favorite movies into the poem as well.
And Brother Garlicsalt, I'm asking that when you tag the next poet, please select someone who writes poetry here often, so we can keep the ball rolling. :bowl: Looking forward to this!!! :10900:

Why must you give me flack about the color black
Hold on, I just had a thought ... I'll be right back ...
Ok, now what was I saying, oh yeah ... I feel like I'm at war
Because people are attacking la noir de couleur
I'm what you call "black" ... My bad, African-American
My grandparents and parents were Negro, and colored ... don't want to go there again
Folk are still living up to stereotypes ... and that makes me scream
This, after 40 plus years after Martin Luther Kings Dream
Don Imus calls us names and we feel defrauded
Too Short can say the same thing and yet he's applauded
WTF?!? I thought civil rights would some how free us
But what we're doing to ourselves affects how everyone else sees us
Why must you give me flack about the color black
I guess from within we're responsible for our own attack
Instead of pursuing English, Biology, Chemistry or Trig
We're too busy greeting each other with the salutation "My Nig"

LoveDestiny ... You're it ... take it and run with it sweetie :)

    GarlicSalt!!!!!
This piece was definitely worth the wait. :) As expected, your word choice precision, and flair for turning a phrase were direct hits. I particularly liked these lines...
You took the color black and turned it every which way but loose. I am so happy you obliged us with your talent. Bravo, poet!!! :weights:
    ****

    Okay LovesDestiny you've been tagged!

Now sis, please pick one of three topics, and write a poem according to that theme with an added "twist". Then I'd like you to select 3 new topics and a new twist to choose from, and TAG another poet(one who writes poetry here often).
Garlicsalt opted not to select 3 new topics and a new twist, so you can choose from the previous options which were:
    1.the color black
    2.any kind of weather
    3.your favorite scent
The "twist" is that I'd also like you to somehow incorporate the title of one of your favorite movies into the poem as well.

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

    Black Is He

Thank you GarlicSalt for scribing what black means to you
I'm down with what you said but have a slight twist on it too
I see Black as strong and powerful beyond measure
Black is deep and still and hunted like a long lost treasure

There are many shades to Black which makes him even more unique
He is a chocolate coated mixture of "Honey" and "Brown Sugar" so don't sweat the technique!
His "Best Man" is loyal and he honors his woman as his wife
Black don't practice or front in the "Imitations of Life"

Many admire his endurance and strive to be just like Black
Others don't understand him so they keep their distance while they attack
But Black keeps his head up and keeps on steppin' in that confident stride
Black is destined for great things, coast to coast and worldwide!

    Sister Soulosophy, TAG YOU'RE IT!!!!!!

I would like you to choose from the following 3 topics:
    1. The Sun
    2. Friendships
    3. Infinity

The twist is I'd also like you to incorporate each letter of the alphabet in your piece (Whew! You better get started...LOL)

I enjoyed the positivity of your flow, LoveDestiny. And I especially liked the seemingly effortless manner you incorporated 4 movie titles into this scribe:

Platinum, I am speechless. :qqb021: Strategic creativity just glistens here. It's difficult for me to highlight any of your lines, because the work as a whole is stellar. But since your ending to this masterpiece was a bull's eye as well, I'll highlight that:

Whew. You go girl, you talented princess poet! :great:

    ******

    Asimplepoet, you've been Tagged!!!

Please write a poem from one of the following 3 topics:
    1. The Sun
    2. Friendships
    3. Infinity

For the twist, Platinum would like you to "make Verbs and Nouns AGREE".

After you pen your piece, please select 3 new topics to choose from, and a new added twist. Then TAG another poet, someone who writes poetry here often, so we can keep the ball rolling.

So, asimplepoet, you know I'm looking forward to this! :em2300:

    When verbs and nouns agree

How did we over become the unseperable three
For it seems we were all fruit from a different tree
How did we ever make verbs and nouns agree
For we spoke different languages completly

But some how when i dropped a noun
You fell in with a verb giving me a new sound
And from then on we kicked words around
Daily covering and discovering new gound

Till one day we looked up and we were interwine
No longer seperate souls but one all combined
A till death do us part frienship was defined
Cause somehow your verb keeps my noun in line

Let's see I think I will choose the master poet, Da Street So'ja

    1. Pain
    2. pleasure
    3. Destiny

And the twist is to incoporate as many song titles as possible
