You left saying you needed space
    Felt hemmed in
Not knowing I knew the truth
    Indecisive
    Some call it fickle
    Nevertheless I waited
    Watching for you to return
My heart aching for your embrace
    But as time marched on
    So did I
    Out of the blue
    You return
    Like a boomerang
    that has been lost
asking if things could be as they were
telling me that leaving was a mistake
but now you know where your heart lies
    and it’s with mine
How I wish I could have made you see before
But you thought the grass was greener
Your heart connected with mine is all I ever wanted
Now my dream has been fulfilled
and you wish to give it to me
But that dream has long been forgotten
    The tears has dried
    The heart has been mended
    The locks have been changed
And someone else holds the key.

My, my, my, my, my. This is so real and beautifully written. And dat hook...

Now my dream has been fulfilled
and you wish to give it to me
But that dream has long been forgotten
    The tears has dried
    The heart has been mended
    The locks have been changed
And someone else holds the key.

This poem blows me away because...confession time...I was that person when I was 19. I tried the key and it wouldn't turn.

    Thanks for sharing.

I know this feeling too, but luckily, the locks hadn't changed when I decided to come back, and I thank God for it everyday!

sounds like you and GQ were dealing witih the same woman.:)

...in his "now she gives a ****" piece, he painted the same picture. REMEMBER, it's not about her...it's about you. if your heart tells you that she deserves a second chance...regardless of the chances for heartache...give the woman another chance.

all is fair in love and war...EVEN LOVE.

    One.
