We need to own telephone and cable companies so that we can take our money out of
these folks seeking to imperialize the web

We need to own some ISPs cable, and DSL

We also need to own our own utilities, to ensure the flow of communication

As I understand it, the 'internet' is simply a connection between networking computers. So, anywhere you have two computers sharing a network, you have the 'internet'.

The problem here is that companies providing services to make that connection en masse, are in control. You don't need to own a company to compete. All one would need to do is network with individuals as opposed to going through a service provider. This new 'internet' would be limited to only those accessing the same network of computers, but could be expanded simply by adding more users.

The only issue then is phone service, which makes for slow connection. And if you wanted a faster one, you'd have to have satellite access of some sort.

Since the passing of net fuckality, it is my desperate hope that some enterprising individuals and companies put out a means by which to start another 'internet'.

and with all due respect and no offense to any one these networks can be Black only, not out of hate of anyone, but every human family has the right to settle it's affairs behind closed doors, nice idea but after 15 years can anyone here claim to have used one?

We as African's in America need ownership of utilities and that is to say that we can as an act of disgust and outrage over the ghoulgull-verisun

pull our money out of that Telecom, enmasse, if we had our own services

Not so much about net communication but about letting our voices , become heard by the corporations to let them know
    Enough is Enough and

Collectively, we are Fired up and We are not going to Take itany more!!!!!!!!!!!

sure when we have at least a choice of a Black gas company, a Black electric utility, and a Black telecom and cable,

we are not looking for the capitalist dream or scheme,
or to get phatt bling blingedy,

just simple survival and self sufficiency with dignity, and security,

so we can tell our children that we can provide employment for them when they get out of college, trade school or high school
