    I seek to rest in the meadow today
    where the whisper of life speaks
    and the subtleness of the mornings’
    arrival seeks to comfort me again;

    I miss the times that I could rest
    in the tall, damp grass of spring
    and close my eyes to feel the warm
    from the arrival of the noonday sun;

    today I struggle in thunder and rain
    where the wind becomes a gust and
    the clear blue sky turns a dreary grey
    darkening the once peaceful meadow;

    There is neither comfort nor cover for
    me, just open land of startled grass
    looking to me to rest upon it in hopes
    that I could protect it from the misery;

    But how can I protect them when I seek
    protection from the affliction of tears
    unshed, now pouring like a flooded stream
    of unspoken frustrations and pain;

    this piece stirs the emotions...
    hear the conflicting tone of unrest
    but this was an excellent flow
    very emotive
