When we are brought together, Bonded forever, To go through whatever Life may throw our way, When completing endeavors, I’m wondering whether, Three little words are all you have to say. To make feelings last, To erase shattered pasts, And to turn it all around, And make my attention pay. Those words, In so many different basses, From so many different faces, Truth was not present in all cases, But I learned to accept that it won’t be. Those words, That can bring joy, Or tear me in two… Because another girl heard it, But it was coming from you. Those words that get thrown, From one life to the other, That are disguised and defined as, “I do, but only like a sister or brother.” Those words that sometimes identify the stage, Signify what page, Has been attained in the relationship. Words that can be said in 10 seconds, Just to let them know it, But would take a lifetime, To truthfully show it. Those words are not easy to utter, And how often we misconstrue. Three little words with a vast impact, Saying simply…..I love you.
