Black Poetry : THOSE 3 WORDS...

[4EVERLUV]

The roses were ever so beautiful
The godiva chocolates were tasty and sweet
The diamond bracelet had a sparkle
you could see from across the street

Some may say I’m crazy
I should be happy as can be
I guess would
if today was more
than about receiving Gifts
it means way more than that to me

We should celebrate and show our love
Each and every day we breathe
Although I love all of my gifts
I would give them all back
if only he would say
those 3 words to me

He always shows me in his actions
he loves so intimate and passionately
I honestly believe
The man would do
anything in the world for me

And even though I can feel it
In his loving touch and taste in his tender kiss
Those 3 words I’ve never heard
Never have they come from his lips

Even when I say them to him
he says “me too” or “you know I do”
What does he think is going to happen
If he voices how he feels too
Does he think it’s some kind of taboo

Maybe I’m just trippn’
Analyzing things way to closely
I know diamonds are a girl’s bestfriend
The Godiva Chocolate was heavenly
I love the way fresh flowers smell
And they look so beautiful and velvety
But all I really wanted was
Those 3 words said to me

I called to thank my sweetie
For the wonderful gifts
He gave to me
I was about to hang up the phone
When my ears heard something so lovely
“Baby I’m happy you loved your gifts
You know I would do anything for you
I know I have never said it before but “
I LOVE YOU

Talk about a heart melting. Gifts are wonderful, but to hear those 3 words, whew, there's nothing else quite like it. I loved this.
