Why Black People Make Good Slaves
we need this ish? why?
James the purpose is to debate...look at his arguments and see whether there are any flaws in his reasoning. People need to be critical. Blow to bits his arguments. Don't just call it ish...say why it is ish... It is so amazing that folks will be more willing to discuss a TV show or movie than to use their brains in an analytical way. What he is saying is not the normal topics of discussion that we read about... As I said I will make my comments later.
i see NO obligation to discuss any and every nonsense that anyone comes up with.
if you do not agree with the speaker on some fundamental level why present it here?
black people get enough mess in our daily lives. we don't need more poured on us.
I would like to know who his sponsors are and his sources of funding....
Aside from that, this man has some more learning to do:
The natural state of man is freedom, not slavery.
Slavery is artificial and unlawful.
True. Completely unhindered.
Well, SOME of his "history facts" are correct; but he fails to address cause and effect between slavery, Reconstruction, Jim Crow and present-day ills in the Black community......as well as segregation and integration.
And, SOME of his "history facts" are exaggerations, omissions and out-right lies.
.....And, (Lawd, hab mercy!) his Biblical commentary and statements on being in America just had me smh.
Moreover, Manning gave this speech in 2009.
Now, bear in mind that a U.S. Census is every 10 years. (1960, 70, 80, 90, 2000, 2010)---
His statistical information is incorrect. He says in the video that, "in 1965, there were 40 million Blacks and 'now' (meaning the last census before this speech which was 2000), there were 30 million Blacks."
This is false.
@4:47, He also said, "2 million are in prison." (meaning Black men)
Again, Manning gave this so-called "report" in March, 2009.
In, 2008, the ENTIRE U.S. prison population was 2 million, NOT the Black prison population.
I can't help but wonder if he's just comprehension-challenged or if he is deliberately skewing and lying about statistics to further present a negative and bleak image of Black Americans.
Yes, we have countless examples of Africans and African-descendants who fought against our enslavers and various other oppressors and invaders.
But, they do not cancel out the African kings who sold their own slaves/captives of war as well as kidnapped other Africans to sell to Europeans into the Atlantic Slave Trade.
And, He also did not address any cause/effect to that either.
So, yes, I would agree that he has a lot more learning to do.
