    They Dont Care About Us

"They Don’t Care About Us” is the fourth single from Michael Jackson’s 1996 album “HIStory.” The song remains one of the most controversial pieces Jackson ever composed. In the U.S., media scrutiny surrounding alleged antisemitic lyrics were the catalyst for Jackson altering a couple of words in the lyrics.

Responding to criticism by the New York Times, Jackson said: “The idea that these lyrics could be deemed objectionable is extremely hurtful to me, and misleading. The song in fact is about the pain of prejudice and hate and is a way to draw attention to social and political problems. I am the voice of the accused and the attacked. I am the voice of everyone. I am the skinhead, I am the Jew, I am the Black man, I am the white man. I am not the one who was attacking. It is about the injustices to young people and how the system can wrongfully accuse them. I am angry and outraged that I could be so misinterpreted.”

The song was accompanied by two music videos directed by Spike Lee. The first was shot in the Dona Marta favela, or shantytown, of Rio de Janeiro, where state authorities tried to ban all production over fears the video would damage their image, the area and prospects of staging the 2004 Olympics. Still, the residents of the area were happy to see the singer, hoping their problems would be made visible to a wider audience.

Jackson collaborated with 200 members of the cultural group Olodum, “who swayed to the heavy beat of Salvador’s ‘samba-reggae’ music.” The media interest surrounding the music video exposed Olodum to 140 countries around the world. It brought them worldwide fame and increased their credibility in Brazil.
The second video was shot in a prison and contains real video footage of police attacking Blacks and of the Ku Klux Klan, war, genocide, starving children, assassination, execution and other infamous human rights abuses by the state. This is the first time that Jackson made a second music video for a single.
Commercially, the song became a Top 10 hit in all European countries. In the U.S., radio stations were reluctant to play the controversial composition; however, it managed to peak at No. 30 on the Billboard Hot 100.

    Let's get real here folks!!!!!!!!!!

MKUltra is real and the brother did go through traumatic mind control experiments during his youth, but just like the proverbial Rambo, breaking out of his programming,
Michael's wakening scared the crap out of the Illuminati.

Do we actually think that a 50 year old man with that much knowledge of our plight (Brazil has a much lager Black population then the United States and most in hidden abject poverty)
a knowledge of the secrets of those high up in the oligarchy and elite bloodlines,
a knowledge of the impending globalism that will desimate Africa,

just sat around fixing his nose for eight years???????

No it is my conjecture that he was using his multi millions to not only expose the hidden horrors that the press have an Orwellian desire to hide, but that he literaly risked life and limb to assist those who the corporations felt should never be assisted,
    that is my hypothesis.

    Like Jim Garrison,
    Mae Brussels,
    Danny Cassolaro,
    Mickie Leland,
    Gary Webb,
    and Jim Kieth

    he was "suicided" by intel

    Nobody knows 'everything'!

And I believe a few here need to quit seeking short term 'fixes' whereas what is wanted is long range goals for what we actually intend to do in the midst of this corrupt as well as corrupting part of world culture etc.

    I. e., turning a guy who had his own share of unresolved issues and problems, no matter his merits as a singer/songwriter/etc., into a social and politica icon, etc., won't get us there...

Actully I feel and think Mike is just the latest victim of those who love others more than he loved himself...

May the Creators and the other kind spirits be forgiving (if not forgetting) of his shortcomings when he was among the living too...

    In the Spirit of Sankofa!

C'mon brother chuck and get on the band wagon,

It is what it is, our brother Michael Jackson, now an ancestor, did what he could as Putney and oldsoul both bring to the table thoses things that perhaps and eventually brought about his death.

Here is what you have not considered, Michael Jackson was the most well known person to have walked the planet in recent years, and as a Black Man this speaks volumes. It means that Michael was in a position to, as you say, "get us there." You do at least give him credit for using his influence to overcome again, as you say his, "unresolved issues and problems," correct?

    ain't no santa claus.....

none of our great people are perfect. they all got faults just as we do too.
therefore it is easy to sit at your keyboard and find fault with most any one in the public eye.

i take it for what it is. some cat in his mothers basement with a keyboard.

    under a disguise of ......

a white image and a faked efffeminacy, he was a manchurian candidate in reverse, programming himself to do things we could not dream of, or probably would not want to dream if we did.
War in defense of the opressed as Malcolm said is not a pretty thing.

Maybe he created a "Joker image" to rail chaos on the illuminati, economicaly and physicaly, we may never know

    I do know this,
    of all the bizarre and shocking things he did or was accused of doing the most shocking and bizarre thing happened at his concert here in NYC at radio City;

He introduced Marlon Brando to come and speak for an hour on stage,
regarding the deeper political horrors of the day,
and what people must do to turn them around.

Jackson just mite have been a spook who sat by the door

Or the spook who opened many doors. So will we shoot our wounded no matter how much they do for us then wonder why there aren't a whole lot of people doing anything for us?
