    Men are born soft and supple;
    dead, they are stiff and hard…

    Plants are born tender and pliant;
    dead, they are brittle and dry…

    Thus whoever is stiff and inflexible
    is a disciple of death…

    And whoever is soft and yielding
    is a disciple of life...

    The hard and stiff will be broken…
    The soft and supple will prevail…

    NADIA BINTA,

    Lao-Tzu is the recognized father of Taoism. Taoist philosophy originated in Ancient China, it emphasizes the oneness of the universe, which is called - The Way. It is the mother of yin and yang. Get a copy of the Tao Te Ching. Though Lao is given credit for the Tao Te Ching, He is not the originator of Taoism. (Tao pronunced Dao).
