    tears in my womans eyes
came from the man i grew to be
brought up with love and respect
determined not to walk that path
    satisfied with the status quo
just say no was never an option
didn't mean to break my babys heart
thought the part i played was more important
    hustler...
    leader of a new age
    with and old tale
only one law i lived by
    survive!
    nothing is above mine
    schooling came from gutters blood
    neighbor-hoods
    sweet sting of cheap wine
hookers with all the answers to women
    stolen goods
    a dime bag
on a good night maybe two
    itching of addicted mentality
existing in a state of enraged confusion
    bedded down with illusions
used ignorance and pain as a shield
hiding me from a better reality
    didn't know about the dawn
    i ran with the moon
    underneath cloaking darkness
stalking the streets with impending doom
    that night
    the night
made one last decision to put a ***** down
this clown here in his nice suit
guess who's coming to get high
he had no use in my eyes
had he ever cried for me
    ***** him
    why should he
didn't deny my lust for junkies revenge
brought his life to an end
    for minor benjamins
    but
    being a vampiric predator
    broke my babys heart
pain making us drift further apart
how many times did she pray
    for me
    falling to her knees
    trying to save
    me
    i guess god wasn't listening
cause i never heard the voice
    this life was my choice
the haze of liquor and dope
    told me everything was fine
    those words a comforting familiar
    it was all a lie
    trying to die slow
oh how quickly my sins came for me
gave them more evidence than they needed
    repentance uttered a guilty plea
i can feel the real now
    shackles clanging steel now
    sitting here with final clarity
    clean
    clear
able to understand hopes and fears
    first time in 15 years
    its too late
i made my fate with the demon of hate
    no more chips to win
    i dealt my last hand
and its time for me to cash in
    i'm so sorry baby
i really did love you so
wish i could see your eyes
    one last time
wipe away the tears you cried
    for me
    in futility
    i'm realizing how much i didn't know
now its time for me to go
got to pay the dues for my uselessness
as i take my final walk from death row...

Wow. You've created a powerful character here. I'm sitting here at home just vibbing on your imagery.

    schooling came from gutters blood
    neighbor-hoods
    sweet sting of cheap wine

You've painted a portrait, and it's disturbingly beautiful.

    i liked this a lot...told a tale...felt like i was back in the '70's but then again...this could be today's tale...timeless, endless a circle of life.
