The devil is in the details.

If you call or write the justice department out of conceen that we will lose our right to vote in the year 2007 they will tell you to relax and worry not for the Voting Rights Act permanently protects your right to vote under the 15th amendment.

What they may not tell you is that specific provisions contained in the act which protect us against the many tricks and evasions used in the south to keep us from voting will expire. Without these provisions you will still have the right to vote on paper but states will no longer be barred from redisticting to dilute your vote or reinstituting the literacy requirement etc.

"...IF there is a renewal of discriminatory practices??????"

Do you think the dogs have lost the desire to bite just because they've been chained?
