oh yeah, i been done got several readings on different stuff. i get a lot of information coming down the pipeline and my main issue is one of sorting stuff out and figuring out what is significant. i been taking classes every week and now i'm studying the I Ching sos i can interpret my own stuff somewhat. there is a lot of it.

Once again, I'm impressed, and I'm extremely happy for you. All's that I ask, is that you keep my informed of your progress.

i just went with the philly family to NYC for SUS's birthday. that was a little too much ceremony for me. i saluted so many people i was getting dizzy from it all.
i'll avoid that stuff in the future.

LOL, I can see why, as a pragmatic brother such as yourself, which you would feel leary of these endeavors.

I personally enjoy them, as they represent a solidarity of the culture. Without these displays of comaradarie and affection, we would be nothing more than the European philsophists in present times, who attempt to mock our culture.

there is a sex imbalance. most all the people in the class studying are males. the priest seems to have the females all tied up so there is nothing for the new males coming up. i believe the best way to cement a family is to have somebody for every body and so i see a problem if the leader has all the females.
fortunately, i am too old for this to be a personal issue but i do see it as a issue if you want to build for the future. you got to have something for them young males. keep them in the family, you know?

Unfortunately, I know all too well of what you are speaking about. I have experienced this first-hand as well, and it's one of the few things that prevents me from joining the AAS in any official capacity.

If you are not a Sebahy (priest, as you said), A Sheqhem (Leader), or some other esteemed position within the Society, then your chances of meeting one of the Sisters that are already there are slim.

I know people here hold my presence in high esteem, as a physically strong, intellectually apt, and spiritually ascendant Brother.

But the blessing/curse about the Ausar/Auset Society, is that there are dozens, hundreds.....Maybe even thousands of brothers just like me, to varying degrees.

There are brothers whom I surpass in the aforementioned aspects exponentially, and there are those who exponentially surpass me. I am proud to know them all........However I choose not to compete with them over one or two women, like scraps of meat being tossed to a pack of lions.

The one redeeming difference about the Society in this respect, is that the Sisters have the right of choice, when it comes to their potential mates (which, I'd wager was what was taking place with that Sister that you mentioned ). They don't just stand around waiting to get chosen.

However, that still doesn't bode well for brothers like me, who are standing around waiting to be picked like a slave on the auction block.

It's bad enough when I have some unresolved issues with Black women in general, to have to be placed in that scenario whether the few Sisters who are smart, wise, strong, creative and loving are already taken, and those that aren't are of questionable character--with 12 children, never married, trying to raise her own person "12 tribes of Israel" by herself, without the help of any of the fathers......On welfare, and only using the theology to fit in somewhere.

That's why, if you have noticed, most of the context of the women I speak of, are just your plain old, everyday Sisters that I meet on a daily basis, and not the Conscious Sisters is the Society and in other related groups.

The reality is, there are far more Brothers living the Conscious lifestyle than Sisters, because there is very little sensationalism within Consciousness for women to become emotionally attached to.

It's not like Church, which is more of (and nothing but) an emotional experience, rather than a spiritual one. Conscious Spirituality is too stoic for most Black women, who gain fulfillment from doing cartwheels and back-flips, waving their hands in the air, doing the "Holy-Ghost Stomp", and screaming "Hah-Glory" at the Pastor's call and response.

This is not meant as a diss to Sisters, just a prognosis of the pathology.

In the meantime, Black men, who prefer the pragmatic approach to spiritual growth, are avoiding Christianity and the Church, opting for Islam, and of course Conscious Spirituality.

Thus, the reason you see more Brothers in gatherings like the one you attended, than Sisters, and why more Sisters are in the Church than Brothers.

during the NYC jaunt a sister approached me. she started telling me stuff about back in the day and said that i had been with her in 1975 and she still remembered me. she said she remembered my energy. i was wondering "was i that good to her?" or do these sisters remember everything that happens to them?

I've been telling you ever since I've known you, Brother Elder, that your Spirit is strong--Stronger than you realize.

I've recognize your untapped potential, and I haven't even met you in real-life (yet, and as far as I know).

I'm sure that a spiritually ascendant Sister (of all people) would recognize this in you upon first-meeting as well.

This is why I've been urging you to refine and harness your Spirit (that "voice within", as you call it), so that you can unlock that true, untapped potential of yours.

But regardless, you're in good company. You may just have to put up with those "dizzying handshakes" for a little while longer

i would suggest that you get a copy and start reading.
you may find that the concepts are common.
