    The Train From Washington

    Sitting and waiting
    Patiently anticipating
    The train from Washington’s arrival
In this new millennium fight for survival

The government agent said have no fear
The man with the papers would be here
But that was a hundred plus years ago
Is the train coming I don’t know

Working my fingers down to the bone
Trying to keep my humble home
Doing what is needed to get done
Waiting for the train to come

    My ancestors waited in vain
    For the vaunted promised train
    The much expected special one
    The train coming from Washington

Maybe somewhere along the way it got derailed
My country for me would not fail
This is the land of liberty
    Ran by leaders of integrity

My country would not lie to me
    We’re a nation of Democracy
Waiting for the train to come
    The expected train from Washington

it's like being down in a B-ball game by 30 points and wanting to hit a 30 point jumper you know you can't make ALL the points in ONE SHOT
