Africa was not divided into Nations. It was organized by clans or tribes, empires, kingdoms and emerging city-state formations such as the Oyo confederacy. In fact confederations were one of the oldest formations going back to the Maa confederation of the pre dynastic era.
The concept of a nation implies defined borders, a concept that was foreign to African society which was organized primarily at the village level, from the ground up, not the top down, and they also were typically decentralized systems.
I'm not talking a matter of semantics but differences in forms of social organization.
And I'm not the one talking about that white Christian construct known as the Table of nations either.
There is a truth in what you say, it's just so glossed over with the same boundaries that are present now, just worded in a different way, making it hard to see.
is this an appropriate use of the front porch forum? we now have cats who exist solely in the front porch?
Actually, the material he is posting would be more appropriate in the Hebrew Israelite thread.
Time will prove my statement.
how can we move the brother to the appropriate forum?
