Last night, I met you in a dream
and it was oh-so-good to see you again
longing to
saturate my cares in the fabric of your voice
girl, you soothe me more than my pen
see when I’m scribin’ and unwindin’
there’s still some reminding
that things can and do go wrong
but when I’m lost in your eyes
or resting my head on both thighs
my world has a much more euphonic song
it’s music to my ears
you, subsiding my fears
the ways you present yourself, wholly, to me
bringing me close to tears
you’re like the most powerful line
in the perfect poem
where all else is forced to stop
take you in
breath your substance
exhale your message
value the beauty that you represent
coming to the complete realization
that you
embody
my heart’s content
