    Ain't no sunshine
    where nines
    create sounds of
    screaming pantomimes
    gray sky patterns
    carry nooses that
    choke the inhabitants
    the ghetto residents
    painting outlines
    on cement
    Ain't no sunshine where
white bread is at a premium
    and ******** take the place
    of dinner tonight while knocking
at a door of a single mother
    of a brother who's
    tired of struggling and
    smuggling dreams behind
    a scowl that exist because
of reality and ain't no sunshine
    where police increase the tension
    by their presence and peace
    is found on the other
    side of the world.......
    somewhere
    somewhere
the sun don't shine on babies
    born addicted to narcotics
and need a shot to the vein to maintain
the need for a mothers nourishment
    the sun don't shine
    the sun don't shine
    the
    sun don't
    shine.

    man

    you ain't lying soldier
the momentum of a falling boulder

    you right on time
    bust nines
    chalk lines
    family cryin'
    the sunshine don't shine

    but a glimmer of hope
    keep the flame afloat
    we struggle to cope
    and i don't mope

    hope is a good thing
    the good times they bring

even though it's not here now

    feeling the brotha
