You blamed me for the reason that we could not be
But the truth was
That you never really loved me
Did you even care
I promised myself
That I wouldn’t be hurt by you again
But here I stand
Just like before
Hurting more than I could have ever imagined
We couldn’t be together, not because of my reservations
Or because our timing was off
It was because you weren’t strong enough to stand on your own two feet
You always thought you needed someone to hold you up
Instead of just stand beside you
You needed her to lean on, not me
So I guess it’s true
People don’t change
Just look at you
You said things would be different one day
Some day soon
That you would win me back
That one-day we would be together
Over and over I tried to believe you
And again and again I was let down
But now you’re forever tied to her
And I’m supposed to smile and be happy for you
You weren’t there when I needed you the most
So we’re left with nothing
Emotionally broken beyond repair
There’s nowhere to go from here
Except our separate ways
