The stage, it seems to beckon me
It's not really where I want to be
But that's where I tend to end up, see
    it's lights, camera, action, reality
what is entertainment for the masses
is real for me, it's just life, seemingly void of goals
living through ages and of course, stages,
countless platforms where the continuing roles
of see, hear, and speak no evil are performed
    unrehearsed, unedited, and on cue
so as the audience won't be denied one glimpse.
Yes step right up folks, it's live and in living color, you
won't have to wait for the blooper reel of this comedy
that has been disguised as a tragedy
Or is that vice versa...Sorry bout the uncertainty.
Sometimes, when the laughter brings me to tears
I'm not sure which genre it is, or how it appears.
So, come on, get yourself a front row seat,
the spotlights still shining on me
as I numbly chant "To be or not to be"
until the masses tire of lining up to see
this one woman act, living her life on
    The Stage

    mmm...this was deep
I have felt the exact same way...
so many times in my life...
I wrote something like this myself before...
but I called it something like the "Unforgiving Spotlight"
because it has no mercy...when you're standing in it...
    Center stage...

"as I numbly chant "To be or not to be"

that just drove it home for me...

    Poignant work sista!

Yea, I guess it was deep come to think of it sage. The spotlight can be unforgiving while you're smack dab in the middle of it, but ish happens, and I just do me, regardless of how brightly the beam shines. Thank you poet for your kind response as always.

This is a work of art "real-life" art, it remind me of the signature I had prior to the one I have now..."If you set yourself on fire, the world will come and watch you burn" ...it seems sometimes like the whole world is a stage, and everybody's playing a part.
This was indeed knee-deep, because the spot-light shows every...nook and cranny.
    I like your style poet.

I remember that signature line you used to have queent. The world will also watch you burn if someone else set the fire, smh. And that spotlight, as bright as it is, it's amazing when you discover the things that it doesn't really show at all. Thank you for appreciating my style poet.
