Hello Family,

Have you ever heard this before ... The Spook Who Sat By The Door ... ?

It is the title of a novel written by Sam Greenlee. There is so much history surrounding this book and movie. Yes, there was a movie made based on the book. Both the movie and book were hidden away for 30 years, by the U.S. government, some say.

Brother OldSoul shared all of this with us and more in his weekly online class ... Online Consciousness ... today. Family, you all are really missing out on a great class. This Brother is so very deep! Gosh! I can't begin to share with you, all that he shared with us in class today.

I do hope that this thread starts a discussion by those who were around during 1969, that witnessed what was coined as "The Long Hot Summers" ... that knew Black organizations were being attacked by the government but did not know it had a name (cointelpro) ... that perhaps even had a chance to buy and read this book and movie before it was mysteriously taken off the market ... that can share our history with us.

We should buy it Family. The author is still alive and the recipient of proceeds from the purchase. The movie has been re-released by a Black owned studio, so again we would be supporting our own. It's way past time.

I didn't know about any of this until Brother OldSoul shared it in class today. We are so blessed to have each other, to share our history, what they refuse to tell ... what will and is being lost as days pass and Sisters and Brothers become Ancestors. We have no time to waste.

Yes...Great Book

Yes, I've read the book, I own a copy of it and I've re-read it a couple of years ago. It is an outstanding book, but I didn't know there was a DVD movie out. I want to say that I saw a movie based on this book, but I could be confusing it with another movie or book. I've used excerpts from that book on internet discussion boards addressing "Freeman's" comment about his concern that he might have a "hole in his mask", revealing something about him that he didn't want to be exposed.

Outstanding book...I hope the movie is just as good.
