    Such sweet refrains
Yes it really does it for me
    The clickety clack
    the roaring and that

    The vacationers
    the honeymoon Bride and Groom
    the Service Man
    the Conductor
    the Engineer
    The towns they pass
    the memories that last

The excited child eyes wide open
    every mile
    the families left
    the families lost
    the horrors of the Holocaust

    The symbol of commerce
    the symbol of strength
    The romance of history
    the hint of mystery
    the destination
    the political plaftorm celebration

Racing the river blowing it's horn
The sound so low as if it mourns
    the miles it left
    How many to go?

    Manmade beast
    of magnificent strength
Each track layed by the length
on the back of a man
    one spike at a time
    Men singing in cadence
    some singing in rhyme
    The sweat and the tears
    coming down through the years
The soulful sounds of a train

    this is what I love!

and up here in our desert, we are close to the stars ....in the silence...the lone sound of a train is indeed, a beautiful call...and sweet refrain.

This brings so much to my imagination, Gaylee. I LOVE IT!!

with your words you have managed to create so many different images....all individual but all intertwined....I especially love the last verse...it speaks loudly....great peace...
