The simplest thing she ever said
that I never did quite understand
it made me toss and turn at night
focusing my mind on this internal fright
I was sad and confused, feeling quite used
    wondering ‘what was her problem?’
    ‘had she been abused’
perturbed, you know, quite frankly disturbed
I had to separated from her, a subject without verb
she rattled my brain, and I tried to maintain
but I begged and pleaded, it was all in vain
see, the simplest thing she ever said,
that I never did quite understand
was in respect to our love
    that it was DEAD
