the little bridge

please don't underestimate
my words...i walked the
path a short while, it's true
but it was the little bridge
that filled in the gaps for me
whenever i look back on (my life) this tragedy

yes, there have been great times
i've met great people
even done some great things
but it was the little bridge in my
life that truly showed me what "greatness" brings

over valleys, over water,
over rails, it was always the
little bridge that helped me prevail

and i had to grow older before
i'd learn, and if i could hold
her one more time
my heart would burn

and i'd even take just one day
to walk that path again...
because it was the little bridge
that kept me sane
