    Hey Y'all

I wrote this piece last year on Election Day, before we found out that Obama had won. I was thinking about how America gets hustled by politicians... but not at the National level, but at the State level by our own celebrity politician, Arnold Swartz-n!gg@ (Swartz, by the way, means "Black" in German)....

So anyway, we get hustled out of votes in the same way many women get hustled out of their draws. Once they get what they want, they just say to hell with all that - whatever - they were talking about when they were trying to get the goodies. Pimping don't change just cause the players wear different colors... it's all the same: preachers, pushers, pimps... it's win the prize at all costs--and promise the sky to get what you want.

    Well... here it is. Enjoy!

by the way, i have to say this, i was thinking of TS Eliot's "Hollow Men" when i wrote it. (great poem by the way, if you can find it) some of you poetry experts may recognize some of the parallels i reference. hopefully you won't consider it plagarism; it was simply inspiration:

    We speak with wily words

    Flowery, elusive, comforting

    Doublespeak

Flip topics with a hip throw

    We are the soothsayers

    Make the snake shake

    Pied piper, play my song

    Palms rosy sweaty read

    Forecast master plans

    Wave with the wind

    Shapeless, formless, stand for nothing

    Four more and seven years

    Bury truths

    Raise fears

    Cast bullets with our smiles

    Ignoring signs by the road

    We point to the sky

    And drive it down

    Watch the polls fly

    And ride ‘em high

    We pry

    We lie

    We try

    To undress your secrets

    And claim our prize

Push the buck and lay the blame

Below the table, share no shame

So protest against our uniformed lot

Party people with closed ears and minds

Leaving open souls with open mouths

    Empty.

To shaken heads and dead horses

    Relive the reincarnated Phoenix

    Till he dies again

    Rising to hear

    Wily words and slithery tongues

Caress wool-covered eyes and cotton ears

    We seduce you well

    And innocent hearts aglow bestow:

    Four more years

In the Spirit of Sankofa and Real Truth!

    HSF Moe,

What I like best is that you preface your pieces, giving the readers more background, which explains and prevents misunderstanding the message...I really like that a lot my brother friend, then pure fire:

    Forecast master plans
    Wave with the wind
    Shapeless, formless, stand for nothing
    Four more and seven years
    Bury truths
    Raise fears
    Cast bullets with our smiles

Can't wait to hear you on the mic...on a Friday night:)
