This night I seek the light
Resistant to the saddest line,
my soul would have me write
This night, I’ve shed the longest tear
Smothering, deepest, mournful cries
from listening, watchful ears

The dawning of this pensive day
paraded the glory of fiery, golden rays
Nostalgic forests of you and I
were quickly set ablaze
and
The final leaf of autumn falls
Hence the wretchedness of this
bittersweet night, wistfully began it’s call

This night my void is deep, gaping, weeping
and bleeding within the walls of my heart, you see
Unforgiving is your memory
Even more immense this night
Therefore, I must seek the light
In resistance to the sorrowful, mourning lines
my soul would have me write

I am not satisfied and there is unrest
A swallowed silence in the wind tonight
I cannot bring these lonely hands to write,
the saddest line tonight

Your presence is no longer, this is true
no embrace of consolation for my longing
to submerge into, I have lost you
And you have lost me, too

Tonight I seek the light
Tonight I seek flight

There is no other…there will never be
another

This saddest line, I finally write

Hi,

I really like this. I love the flow, emotion of your words and the keen sense of imagery.

It is a very nice piece.

"Tonight I see the light. Tonight I seek flight. There is no other...There will never be another. This sadddest line, I finally write."

These lines for me say it so well!! Beautiful poem!!
