the near north
seated
on the bank
of the river life

i listened

to the hopes and dreams of the hopeless
wishing for things
not within their grasp
at last
i listened to
the wishes of the sick and afflicted
where is it stated
that life must be a *****

while
seated
on the bank
of the river life

i cried
tears of great sorrow
no...tomorrow isn't promised
but it wasn't tomorrow for which i cried
as sadness and misery
swooped down on the masses
and the ashes of yesterday
suffocates us today
i pray
not for relief from our sufferings
but for a better tomorrow
for our kids
like our forefathers did

as i walked along the beach
of outworldly dreams
i heard the screams of anguish
...people in so much pain

though today
isn't the life for which we pray
we say thank you
to THE MOST HIGH
for it is not I
but THE FATHER
who opens my eyes
in the a.m.
for this
and so much more
i give praise and thanks
to HIM

as
i
sat
on the bank
of the river life

i saw
14000 feet mountains
with snow covered peaks
rivers and streams
flowing down upon me

i saw
tree covered valleys
of contentment and peace
overflowing with the joy
of passion's release

i
closed
my eyes
to this dark veiled
cover of night
awaiting
my FATHER
to show me the light

this picture before me
he can erase
and paint a grand portrait
of simplistic taste

the lion and the child
together at play
no violence will maul
the walls of HIS day

as perfection is restored
...the world a lush green
only then will we know beauty
the likes of which we've never seen

i sat on that bank

watching the tides of good and bad
float along the waves of yesterday
today
and tomorrow

THANK YOU.

It's a lot going on and I know I have not been here for a long time but it is about to change.
