They're only "illegal" because another group conquered them and confiscated their lands. The states with the highest percentages of illegal immigrants are struggling the most financially. California is a prime example.
If you purchased a home in Arizona, would you allow mexicans to have free access to that home because it is their ANCESTRAL land? Would you allow them to come into your house and go into your refrigerator and remove your resources because it is on their ancestral lands?
The fact is if the united states vacated texas, arizona, new mexico, navada, and california and gave it back to mexico, they would still cross the new border for the opportunities that exist in the United States. It is not about geographic location, it is about economic opportunity. Mexico simply does not provide its people economic opportunity...this is related to the WAY the country is run, not the geographic location of the country.
Number two: why would I purchase a home on land in the middle of a contentious immigration struggle. Only a pretentious and arrogant ignoramous would do that.
Much of the land out wast is sacred to native people and before I even thought about moving there I would consult their "tribal" elders.
Your point is a muted one
Number three: its entirely possible that IF the white man vacated the lands he stole "they" would still be crossing the borders. This also begs the question what would be the state of affairs for mexicans and 1st nations peoples if white americans hadn't taken their lands in the first place. America helped create the conditions that precipitated mexican immigration, now all of a sudden we wanna cry foul ball.
The standard of living for 1st nation and mexicans have degenerated over the last two hundred years. Western banksters, multi-nationals and the mexican oligarchy have waged a long protracted plan to squeeze all the natural resources and intellectial capital out of black and brown people with no end in sight.
You're right, this crisis is mostly about opportunity but more specifically, the lack thereof. Whites are the minority in mexico but control the vast majority of the wealth. Until this equation is reversed we'll continue to see mexicans entering our country "illegally"
