What is a "Digital Revolution"?

To understand this concept, we should study the revolution that proceeded it: The Industrial Revolution.
The model for the Industrial Revolution is the Printing Press and the Clock. Ironically, both inventions have their roots in African culture.

"The Printing Press as an Agent of Change" by Elizabeth Eisenstein, loosely suggests that the Printing Press is solely responsible for advancements in scientific and religious thought during the 1600s.

In Kemet, it was not the Printing Press itself that led to change, but printing itself. Some of the earliest form of recording thought unto materials that can transfer itself from one time period to another are still found in Africa.

The Clock also lent its weight to the Industrial Revolution. Replicating itself after the Sundials of Kemetic culture, without the mechanics behind the Clock, the very computer system you are reading this on, would not work.

But no one can speak truthfully about the Industrial Revolution and African culture without giving mention to the Cotton Gin. While we still find Slavery inside the minds of most Africans in America. We must wonder what physical Slavery would look like, without the Cotton Gin.

A Revolution is a process that brings about Agents for change.

Printing, as well as the ability to tell Time- both have their hand in the Slavery of Millions of Africans in the world. Both are perhaps the two most overlooked technologies in the world. And are perhaps the two most superior as well as supernatural.

Whatever it is you can say about African History, you will say it because of using one of these two technologies as your point of reference. You will base your judgment upon something you have read. Or, you will base you judgment upon a Time recorded experience.

Today the Industrial Revolution is obvious. And if freedom for Africans in America were indeed a reality, it would be because of this Revolution whose basic foundations separated the North from the South.

Make a list of all the Great Thinkers in African History, and ask yourself how great these Men would be if -one- they could not read, and two if no one printed their thoughts. One this same list are Men and Women we would call our Agents of Change. We will say they brought about a Revolution.

And if Jesus is on your list, you would know nothing about Jesus either, no matter how supernatural or mythical a figure- without the recording of thoughts, there is no gain in knowledge.

How many of us are slaves to the Bible? Now ask yourself, how many of us own Printing companies?

The problem is, we overlook what real power is. Even when it is literally right in our hands. But ask any good Historian who invented paper and the clock. It is these two inventions that lead up to the very Revolution we speak of now.

The Digital Revolution.

Communication is very important to Human survival because Humans arrive from so many different realms of thought and cultures. In America's beginnings, a written letter was one of the most important modes of communicating from a long distance. Getting a letter sometimes took months or even years.

Knowing how to read, instantly placed you in a league with the educated and powerful. A school was one Church, one Teacher and children in different ages in one room learning from a small gathering of books that everyone shared. If you were a slave, you were fortunate if your Master's child taught you what they learned that day. From there a slave would secretly meet at night with other slaves and teach them what they knew.

The act of getting "News" was very important to any community. When Newspapers came along people were hungry for new details and stories that were going on around their town and the world. People naturally built a mental bond with the Journalist. A good Journalist usually worked for a very small newspaper. But he would tell you the truth others would not.

But when Newspapers became big business, smaller Newspapers were bought out or put out of business. More and more Newspaper publishers saw the power in owning people's versions of the truth. Most Publishers are servants to their Advertisers, and usually could care less about the truth.

Without the movie projector, and advancements in sound audio- Television would still be a dream trapped in limbo. When Television came along, this New channel for recording thought was owned by the same publishers of the Newspapers. Yet people still believed in the good Journalist who wanted to report the truth. Television was still another way for Media companies to satisfy their Advertisers. The Advertisers represent the real Government. These are the Companies that produce some of the same products and services that came about during the Industrial Revolution.

But with Television, there came an art form that no one in their right mind could deny. It was the art form that documented visions long held inside the human subconscious. No longer were literary Artists limited to just books, newspapers and magazine articles. They could take the art of social engineering and influence into a totally new arena. Like in the movies -they could use images to tap into the human mind directly, no longer needing mere words to produce the effect in a perhaps less educated brain.

Unlike the Movies, Advertisers could now invade the Home. No one had to worry about movies tickets and popcorn. The entire family could now sit down and feast their brains on a brand new form of entertainment.
But just like the comic books of European's past- most shows only helped to cement White insecure ideals.

Meanwhile, Black minds were arrested by all of these Agents of Change. From the Printing press to the Television Set. Black Culture is secretly manipulated by these Media powers. Black Grandmothers of the past died convinced of everything they've read in the Bible, not realizing the true power was in the Printing Press and not the God it spoke of. Just as new Grandmothers of today die convinced of what they view on Television, not knowing the same level of fabrication existed then and now.

Let's fast forward to our current period of time. Where are we now? We are within what most people still call the Information age. It is the age of myspace, google, ebay and youtube. It is an age where your average website owner is transform from a thousandaire one day and wake up a millionaire the next morning because of publishing a simple idea, product or service.

We are in the age of high speed communication, emails and video attachments. Iphones and Cell phones that play your favorite song instead of a simple ring.

Africans in America are once again helping and adding to a device for their mental enslavement. Just as they did with Television and Newspapers. While some School systems have managed to educate millions of children with the use of one Teacher, the internet - dvd and video players by themselves. Most Black Thinkers are still walking around aimlessly wondering when their ship will come in. When will our Gods produce the perfect vehicle for our Liberation? Where is our Agent for Change?

There is one area of media I did not method on purpose. It is the one solid media most Black people feel we control. We must place this area in parentheses of complete devotion and focus. If we do not learn from this form of media, we will not understand why a Digital Revolution for Africans in the world is possible.

Growing up in America, even if you didn't read, even if you hated school and dodged your books as often as possible. You did one of two things, you played records or you listened to the radio. Some will argue that Black people started a Musical Revolution. If we control anything, most of us will yell, we control music. We will also say that the Entertainment industry has produced more wealthy Blacks in the world than oil, education and politics. We can point out areas of the world were our music pollutes like a sound virus. Areas of the world that don't even speak our language, but can dance to the rhythm of our thoughts.

Yes it is true. The world already knows it. Blacks by far, are the greatest in the Entertainment and Sports game. We are good producers. And it stops there. Hence, the vehicle of our dilemma. All wealth and power in any industry boils down to three major components. Production. Distribution and Advertising (How the product/service/idea is marketed and promoted).

No matter who you are and what you are doing in the world, if you have no control over these three you are only relying on someone else to do it- thus, you are not in control.

I would say, as a Business professional the most important element of all three is Advertising. There are millions of companies that have no product or service at all, but use their skills in Advertising to generate the interest they need in order to get the ball rolling. This is why Sales people are some of the Wealthiest people in the world.

So while Blacks are the best producers in the Entertainment and Sports industry, we do not control how our products (ourselves) is Advertised. Who does? Media. All that we know and ever hope to know about any Entertainment figure is controlled by the Media.

This fact, is somewhat interrupted by the rise of the internet and sites like youtube and myspace. But just as it was done in the past, when Newspapers controlled the Television. The same channels of power will also control the internet.

Never before has such a powerful system been in the hands of average people, besides word of mouth. People have the opportunity to produce, distribute and advertise their own products and services. But what are we doing with this digital medium? What are we doing with our cell phones, with our Emails, with our Dvd players?

This thread will be used as a living book of ideas for people who are serious about producing Agents of Change. These ideas will be things that you can do right now, on a small budget and with a little bit of time.

I will give you instructions from start to finish. Totally free and hopefully - we can aide a collective agenda for change.

Reading the Scriptures in/on the Scroll in our DNA.

Is it right to say it is about not memorization alone, but Re-mem-brance?

Take away the bible and you will find people like they were when they started out. More LOST.

If what we have learend is not hidden in our Soul-Mind-Thoughts, we set our selves up for all types of entrapments.

Speaking of printing companies I need one to do some business cards and fliers.:qqb014:

Why is it always about Media?

Why is it always about Media?

There is a more complex answer to that question, and a very simple one. The more complex: Because we exist within a 3 dimensional world we refer to as Reality. The rate by which we interact with Reality depends upon the use of our Minds. Our Minds are programmed and trained by several different mediums ruled in unison by a system we can refer to as Media.

You might disagree with that. You might say: "It is not Media, it is the Mind. It is Mind over Media."

Really? What language do you speak? By what means was this language taught to you? It was through some form of Media. Even if it was a direct social interaction with a parent or book, the Media of voice to ear, from body language to brain, is still ruled within the same environment of recorded thought as any magazine or movie.

The simple answer to Why is it always about Media? Is: Because it has never been about anything else. Ever.

We are fortunately and unfortunately social animals. If we are here for any single reason it is to learn and adapt from a soup of conditions and variables that lead up to the evolution of our consciousness.

Media has never been outside the equation of Human evolution. In fact, by itself, it is the single most powerful force that promotes or retards Human evolution. It is for this reason and this reason alone, that all people, from all walks of life, should recognize how Media affects their daily interactions with reality.

Who controls what people talk about? Who controls Human interest? Who controls the Government?

Media is the system that translates messages from the provider to the consumer. It can also be used to navigate social consciousness through the creation of negative or positive propaganda.

This is where you come in.

Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door? How about a world wide web? How many flies can we catch with that?

It is time to arrest all your talents, skills and brain for learning and use it for other advantages. Thankfully, you may be one of those people who have already done so. But how many of us are still playing on the internet? Social Networking. Sending and Receiving Emails. Blogging. Presenting our views in forums like Destee.com.

But we are also still complaining. Complaining about Social Change. Still waiting for Saviors and Messiahs to do the job we are obviously but here to do?

We already have a better mousetrap. Our Minds are glued to it. Africans in America and around the world are trapped in Media. Slaves to it. Our mental Oppressors are hidden within audio media, television media, print media, fashion media and now Web Media. Who can free someone from a trap they obviously enjoy? Freedom will only come if these same traps are used as forms of Liberation instead of enslavement.

If this of any interest to you. You might be the Digital Techie. A Business Professional/ Entrepreneur. A Salesperson. Or just someone who has a strong desire to change the world. Whoever you are, you are already on the right track, because you're online and you're reading. Kudos to you.

Digital Video

Many Technical Visionaries share my prediction that Video-web will be the wave of the future. It already is.

What most people don't know is by the year 2010 there will be a HD Video site for just about every Channel on Television. Some people have no idea what the hell that means.

Digital Video took the power of professional looking documentaries out the hands of the usual suspects, and placed it into the hands of the Digital Techie or Filmmaker. Now with youtube it has given anyone with a webcam the opportunity to share their mind with the entire planet.

Anne Hart's book: "35 Video Podcasting Careers and Businesses to Start" is all you would need to study in order to get the ball rolling. Anyone can be a Video Producer on the Internet. Many of us are still fighting trying to get on Television and in Movies. The Internet is the new Silver Screen.

What some of us laugh at and take as a game, is serious business. Literally. People are eating and raising their children off the Digital Revolution. We cannot afford to sleep at the wheel anymore.

What can you do as a Video Producer?

Create educational lessons for the youth. Digitize the entire curriculum or create a new and better one.
Create programs to educate and inform people.
Anything that is done on Television can be done on the Internet with a simple Digital Camcorder, a Computer, High Speed Internet access and some Technical know how.

E-MAIL & ORGANIZATION

Do we really want to create the Agents for Change? Or do we want to sit around and wait for someone do it?
Another powerful tool many of us sleep on is E-mail.

We all should know one of the biggest problems with Africans in America is that we don't organize. Well, that's not always true. We do organize, just in things that may not benefit us collectively. For example. We organize very well to spend money on clothes, go to movies and eat unhealthy food. We are very organized in that.

We need more Black Organization. We need to be held together in groups that can be used to address different problems, issues and goals. Groups that center around ACTION. We need to control the mediums that promote us to talk, think and act.

Video Casting can help to bring these concepts to light, but Emails also help to build organizations. How many of us get Emails that have hundreds of people on the same list? If we are into the same subject, we are in fact Organized.

Those who are interested in the concept of using E-mails to build Organizations should read this book:

"Email Marketing By the Numbers: How to Use the World's Greatest Marketing Tool to Take Any Organization to the Next Level " - Chris Baggott / Ali Sales.

Sales and Marketing

Right. We all know. Nothing happens in this world without money. Its sounds good, but its actually not true.

Nothing happens in this world without a good Salesperson. Pastors and Preachers are Sales people by trade. Any good BS Artist is basically a Salesperson. America is Wealthy because of Slavery and because of Sales. It stole away a people from the world, and it sold a dream to the world in return.

A Salesperson negotiates on the behalf of the Producers and Distributors of Products, Services and Ideas.

Truth101: Anyone who stands up on a soap box with a loud voice is trying to sell you something. But all Business -either social, economic or spiritual rely heavily on good Sales people.

A good Sales person can reach the people in masses, and convince them to make a choice. Sales people run the advertising machines of marketing and promotion. And any Website owner will tell you, without these things, a website goes nowhere - fast.

So to recap. You can use the internet as a medium for Video podcasting. You can do any type of programs you want. You can use Emails to organize people, and even promote your site. Your sales person can be an Email. It can be a print ad, it can be a flyer. A really good Sales person, is an actual person or several. The best kinds are those who Sell your product for free. This is the kind of Advertising we call Word of Mouth.

You need to get people speaking about your product or service. This book might help to gain some overall ideas:

"How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling" - Frank Bettger

What about people who don't have the Internet??

More to come.
