    Had some strange occurences today.
My third God-daughter announced she was gay.
The first two well we never saw it coming...
The mother's and father's say hardly nothing!
The kids come to me cause they always have
Aunt B keeps the confidences and that's how it stays.
But my God-daughter #3's mother is having a fit.
She said she just doesn't understand that ****!
I know for a fact she has cousins that way...
So why is she reacting this way?
    Was it something I did?
    Did somebody hurt my child!
Is this a phase? For attention? Or has she gone buckwild?
Well I don't have all the answer's but this I know is true.
How the story ends is left up to you.
You see I can't go judging folks for the difference of their
ways...I been about love from the beginning of my days.
From my days in theatre when the boys could work it
    better than us girls.
I knew at an early age...These are indeed strange days.
Why do we have to know if they were born that way,
if this is a choice or did somebody make them that way.
My answer is patented and approved...
    YOU LOVE THEM ANYWAY!
So many questions that no one really wants the answer
    too...
I pose this very seriously "What if it was you?"
Do you think it's a choice to be persecuted and abused.
Outted with no pity cause you used the wrong hand the wrong
    way!
Left handed is what they use to call the men down south!
Sugar in their tanks , now that's just rank!
Dyke!!!!!!!! I never liked that term...
Seems like to me as folks of color we
need to stop judging one another!!
So I say this with respect, when your love ones you reject.
    What do you expect...
    When you asked the question...
that you never wanted the answer too...
    So true!
"What if it was your child? What if it was you?"
Sitting in judgement is not our place...
Cause remember it's the same God that we all have to face!
    Confusion,delusion, deviation from the norm...
How do we know it's not the way that they were born?
Well I don't have all the answer's but I know this to be true!
You would have a different attitude if the child belonged to you!

Very thought provoking scribe, and powerfully put. I think as parents you don't want your child to have an extra burden to carry, and I imagine that some are ashamed. But, your child is your child, no matter what, so a parent has to come to terms somehow, and accept it.

    THANKS BROTHERS AND SISTER'S!

I didn't know how this piece would be received but as the topic is being broached across the country with same sex marriages and the recent revelations of my three God daughters, I have had to play referee and counselor, sometimes it's suicidal thoughts or an angry parent, a weeping father or mother wondering what they did wrong ??? I had to find an outlet to express
my true feelings....I appreciate your reading and replying! I see some folks are not comfortable with the subject...But hey! They don't call me the "Warrior Poet" for nothing! I will speak for truth and love and what is just and fair as long as I have breath in my body!!!!!!
    Thanks for your support!
Pray for my God daughters as they face a world that doesn't understand them and may never accept them...lets be on the side of "UNCONDITIONAL LOVE"!

    BLESSINGS ON YOUR HOUSE!

    Hi miss B,
I couldn't agree with you more. "unconditional love" , I'm definitely on that side. This was a very good thread.
