I have been a poet for as long as I can remember
It is the only thing about me that I know is really real
It wasn’t implanted in memory as they made me rehearse it repetitiously…
I pledge allegiance to the flag
I mean it was there long before I learned of Freud’s or Erickson’s theory,
    Why can’t they see
that there’s just no explanation for me
    Born a poet,
what a fate to be metamorphic
through space and time speaking of everyone’s life
    never defining mines
At some point the lines all start crisscrossing in my soul
    And
I wonder how much is real and how much is just a role
    We do what is expected
    never minding ecliptic
    signs
pointing to the direction of self
    while lesser important things
    seems
    to navigate the mind
    and I find
That it is easier to live a lie
    Than the truth
Check out some of these people on face book
    And count that as proof
Pushing the exit on the computer keys
    Could only mean
    The initiation a realization
    Indeed
We all wear the mask in one shape or other
    Thus the reasons that daughters,
    never truly know their mothers
of course poets are equipped to deal with stuff like that
    we grab paper and pen
and write an account of all that we lack
and if love was an issue, we just pen ourselves a mate
and become prisoners to hypothesis’s and terminologies of destiny and fate
let’s see who will I be today
    in this arena
    curse words won’t be used
I’ll just keep telling myself that I am the poet
    This way I don’t confused
