So what, you can put words together in clever little ways,
are you really writing for the love,
or is it for the praise?
Taking what was once intimate, to reciting it on stage,
you used to have a passion for what was written on the page.
Never cared what people thought, cause you used to write for you,
but now you have the nerve to post on the web for anybody to view.
What the hell happened to you?
We used to be cool, but now you’re MISTER POET,
you’re really getting outta hand,
mister poet man,
and I know you f#ck1n’ know it.
You used to write a piece,
just to release, all the frustration you had pent up,
but now you write just to get on the mic,
and honestly, that bull$h1t sucks.
Your compositions used to be fueled by intentions of wanting to be a better person,
now you only think about how you can get a better verse in.
You used to write to stay grounded,
but now you’re surrounded,
by mounds of meaningless scribes,
just to provide pacification for the void you’re feeling inside.
But all feelings aside,
you know you can’t hide, from what’s buried within,
and I hope that you realize this simple phrase whenever you pick up that pen.
Be true to yourself and write from the heart,
don’t stress what “THEY” may do,
and just remember that time you sat down to write a rhyme,
read it back,
and found that the poem just read “YOU”

The last 5 lines of this piece, in particular, caught my eye:
"Be true to yourself and write from the heart,
don’t stress what “THEY” may do,
and just remember that time you sat down to write a rhyme,
read it back,
and found that the poem just read “YOU”"

There are times, when poetry just flows from one's mind like that. Smooth read poet.
