    The Nuclear Age

I was born as we entered the nuclear years
From Hiroshima came the nuclear fears
What Hitler had taken a decade to do
We eclipsed all that in a day or two
Toasted and roasted tens of thousands
In the name of just-us and the american way.
All thru my childhood we were setting off A-bombs
Underneath and overground like fireworks on 4th of Ju-lie
And while we watched the tel-lie-vision god of the sky
We became radioactive children in the nuclear age.
Trauma-tized and shell-shocked from the womb to the tomb
We thought it was awesome to watch a nuclear plume
And never even noticed that flowers no longer bloomed
And we damm sure didn’t notice all the earth we consumed.
To the world we were straight-up hypocrites
Condemning the germans while nuking the japs
Saving nazi scientists so they could torture some more
Our soldiers were killing and raping and pillaging galore.
We made everyone live under the nuclear shadow
We thought we could live with our nuclear fears
But we have not slept in the last fifty years
And we pay no attention to the rest of the world’s tears.
Now there are many more nuclear nations
We no longer reign with terror unchallenged
The whole planet will be made nuclearactive
And then we’ll see what the next age will be.

In my time as well...there were settings of bombs...
Our world today, let's weight the pro's and con's
There are far too many nuclears spreading our nations
leaving way to many with unwanted sensations

    Excellent piece poet...it's awesome!

A frightening thought, all the means to destroy, so easily at hand to so many. Thank you for always giving us food for thought, poetically so.
