    That night was warmer
    than any other...

    Me
    Myself, and
    I

    were being ca-s-u-al

    around the house

    ~ lights dimmed low

    cleaning a little,
    resting in between

    ...drinkin' a
    li-t-O-bit of 1942 Chardonnay

    ....it was smooth
    uh huh
    ...it went down real easy
    ...... nice .....
    with a 'Sepian Bounce'
    after I swallowed

    the air was hallow -
    the atmosphere; eclectic

    That night was warmer
    than any other...
    and I was all alone
    ....
    I didn't feel that way though ~
    ~ alone ~

    you see,

    Charlie.....

    Mmmm. Hmmmm.

    Charlie Parker was there

and honey, let me tell you

    that man
    Charlie
    ...he played a
    3 and a half
    hour long tribute
    just for me

    He was
    'Con-fes-sing the Bl-ues'
    on a twelve bar so(u)lo
    with his
    aLtO TeNor SaX

    He blew that horn
so tuff that he could make
    a sista's organs
    abandon her body --
only to have her come back
    and reclaim it in the
    lost and found
    two days after
    death

    ....his sound was so
    soothing
    and I didn't
    care if it was
    improv or not

    I was 'Groovin High'
    on his jazz
    'Shaw Nuff' in a
    'Dizzy Atmosphere'
    with personified class

    for 3 - and- a- half- hours

    while Charlie.... Mmmm. Hmmmm.,

    Charlie Parker was there

    That night was warmer
    than any other....
    a 'Hot House'
    with a cool mood that
    had me relaxing while
    sippin' that 1942 Chardonnay

    and I listened....

    bobbed my head a bit

    ....and I thought --
    it didn't matter to me
    whether it was improv
    or not
    ...all that mattered
    was
    that Charlie....

    Mmmmm. Hmmmm.

    Charlie Parker
    played a lifetime of
    rhythms all in one
    night...
    just
    for
    me
