When I can’t see my way and my vision is a blur
I set my thoughts on my faith above reflecting on “How I Made it Over”
Gospel connects mine eyes to thee
Love is the music in me

Dancing a jig on my heart’s front porch
Blues ignites a fire deep within like the Liberty torch
When it feels like “The Thrill is Gone” I can still reminisce with glee
Love is the music in me

Pumping that fiya track that gets me all revived
Sending jolts through my body…yeah Hip Hop is Alive!
Inspirations to “Live Your Life” to the fullest degree
Love is the music in me

Swaying to the soft grooves of the Rhythm and Blues
Visions of “Simply Beautiful” passions that one cannot refuse
Sailing the sensual waves of the romantic sea
Love is the music in me

How could I forget Country and Western...I like it...shoot, I can't hide!
The only black man to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry was Charlie Pride
Sending sweet whispers that "Somebody Loves You Honey"
Love is the music in me

Jazz keeps me grounded in my soul
Thoughts of "What You Won't Do For Love" taking control
Nodding my head to the sounds of the sweet jubilee
Love is the music in me

Music and love fit together like fine wine and cheese
Relieving me of my tensions with gentleness and ease
For the existence of one without the other just cannot be
Love is the music in me​
