    He has been called the Father of The Civil Rights Movement because of his early battles with Jim Crow Segregation, and also, because it was he who proceeded Dr. King at Ebeneezer Baptist in Montgomery... Like the Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth in Selma, he was given his walking papers by a congregation that felt threatened by his liberation theology...
