Shalom brothers and sisters this is a short Biblical lesson on tithing.
Christians say that the laws are done away with, yet the church still hold the law of tithing. Why is that? Not only Christians many Israelite camps make the same error in taxing their congregation with tithing.
Le'ts start with Psalm 111:10
Psalm 111:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.
The Bible says the only way you are going to understand the Bible is when you do the commandments. In other words if you are someone who is habitual law breaker and keep making excuse for it, you are not gonna understand what I am about to write. for example if you are a female who call yourself a Christian or Israelite and you wear tight pants and other mannish apparel, that's cross dressing, that's an abomination. Deuteronomy 22:5 You are no different than a homosexual or lesbian. You wont understand the Bible if you don't repent from that filthy sin. The same goes for lying pastors who are exploiting the poor and unlearn people in our community who can't even pay their rent, yet they are asking for 10% of their wages, using the very laws they said was done away with. Shameless con-artists.
Let's begin with the misused scripture that lying Pastors use to extort money from poor people.
Malachi 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
What is that talking about, the Israelites were neglecting the Levites and they were not paying the tithes that were required for the functionality of Priesthood office. What was the law of Tithing about? Lets go to Deuteronomy.
Deuteronomy 14:22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
God says you will tithe all the increase of your seed of the field.
Deuteronomy 14:23 And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.
God says in the place where I will choose you shall eat, the tithe of your corn, wine, oil and firstling of your herds. So that you can learn to fear God.
The first thing that you do, is you need to go to a special place to bring the tithe, that is one of the requirements of the law. You could not bring your tithe just anywhere you want. Jerusalem was the place God chose.
Deuteronomy 14:24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee:
Now God said if the way is too long for you and you are unable to to carry all your increase the food and flocks to Jerusalem.
Deuteronomy 14:25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose:
Then God says, you shall turn your products into money, bind it in your hand then go to Jerusalem. This is the only time you see money with tithing in the same sentence. What happened after you changed your goods to money.
Deuteronomy 14:26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
Then you shall take that money for whatever your soul lust after, whether, its oxen, sheep or wine, then you buy and eat it there at Jerusalem. Money was never given as way to pay tithe, it was crops , herds, oil, wine. Where did Christians get the idea to pay tithe with money. These churches keep our people asleep and unlearn.
Deuteronomy 14:27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
Deuteronomy 14:28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
Deuteronomy 14:29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
Tithing was food, stored to feed first off the Levites, because this was how God set it up to feed them because they had no inheritance with the other tribes. The tithes or the food bank was also set up to feed the poor, fatherless, widow and stranger in our nation. So What happened when Christ came on the scene?
