For the last two weeks brotha oldsoul has spoken to us about the law of attraction--how we attract to ourselves the things we focus on. In my discussions with him we have come to realize that the truth and power of this principle is being evinced right in front of us in the current presidential race.

By sending out positive energy and encouraging the nation to "focus on our hopes rather than our fears." Barack Obama has attracted to himself the support of some of the most conservative republicans in this nation--folks who for decades have never even voted for a White democrat much less a Black one. As oldsoul pointed out they aren't voting against McCain. they are voting for Obama. But they could only do that if Obama gave them something to vote for.

On the other hand, McCain's campaign has always focused on the negative. during the primaries he made a big deal of emphasizing Obama's middle name in order to create a false connection between Obama and the Arabs we are at war with. Then after getting everybody all riled up and fearful he wants to jump back and separate himself from the ugliness of his party. So they Booed him. With the advent of Sarah Palin the McCain camp which degenerated from a presidential campaign to a hate campaign. the negative energy McCain is generating is blocking the su[[prt he needs to win the presidency.

Yet the Republicans seem to think the answer is to generate even more negative energy. The smarter ones. including McCain himself. do understand that folks do not appreciate all this ugliness. But they don't understand that it's not what they say or do in any given moment. It's the energy one is producing. They can't write a speech for him that is tailored with all the right words to make him appear to be the reasonable guy while out of the side of his mouth he is whispering "Husein, Husein, Husein" to focus negative energy on Obama. As sister Yemoja used to tell us nobody can give us what we don't already have. So the negative energy that's coming from McCain will attract negativity to MccCain no matter how hard he tries to focus it on Obama.

There are many many white folks around the country who are awakening to a deeper understanding of this truth. It is to our own benefit that we focus positive energy on them so they can work with us to bring about the changes that in the past we hardly dared to hope for. It is to our detriment that we continue to focus negative energy on the whites who have not yet awakened. They no longer have a lot of power and they know this. They snap and snarl like a wounded dog trying to hide their weakness behind viciousness.

If I decide I will not have hope until all the negativity in the world is eradicated and I make it the responsibility of others to wipe out the negativity in their race while at the same time refusing to recognize much less eradicate negativity in my own race then I make myself part of the problem not the solution. I don't say this to criticize anyone but to educe self examination and new thought patterns.

We know that whites copy everything we do. Has it occurred to anyone that of we show love they will copy that too? It's not about who did what to whom first or last or whatever. It's abbot we know we were the original people's of the Earth. We were here first and therefore we are the eldest. And we are the one's who set the example for our younger brothers and sisters. If the older sibling follows the example of the younger sibling then the whole house will be whining and throwing tantrums.

As long as we are alive and breathing we have within us the power to attract what we want from whites and everybody else. The law of attraction works whether we believe in it or not just like gravity works whether we believe in it or not. The laws of the universe cannot be broken. They can only be obeyed to bring about positive results or ignored to bring about negative results.

    Hard, yes but not impossible.

As brotha oldsoul said, it's not necessarily what we think about but what we focus on. So many people constantly trying to control our minds and get us focused on stuff for their benefit not ours. It takes an effort to wrench our minds out of their control and I'm the last person to say it's easy.

Brotha Omo used to have a signature that said if you always do what you've always done you will always get what you've always got.

    Sleep on it.
