    I am the Last Poet
The last seed from the torn womb of Mother Africa
The last tear shed as libations for the ancestors
I come forth bearing the stories of 1,000 griots
I will no longer silence my soul
I will speak in the tongue of Yoruba
    Write in Hieroglyph and Cosmograms
I will open my mouth and speak with the voices of the Oracle
I will call upon the names of the orisha
    Ago, Ago, Ago
Elegba bless my divine path of purpose
    Ago
Shango I invoke you to bring the fire and fury of your justice
    Oba Ko So!
Ogun let my strength be as iron
    Iba se
Oshosi give me the swiftness of the hunter
    Mo juba
Oya I shall listen for your call in the 4 winds]
    Ose o
Oshun wash me in the rivers of your love
    Mo fe re fun
Yemaya, Mother of All, grant your daughter grace
    O Yeye O
Obatala, Father, let your kindness surround me
    O pele o
Onrumila bear witness to my destiny and guide me with divine wisdom
    Ase
I will remember the power of the dopkwe
For the spirit of community is strong
Let the spirit of the scribes flow freely through my veins
    Anoint my pen
Consecrate my spirit in the presence of the Elders
I will sing ancient songs of Native Eguns
Offer incantations to the Sky and the Earth
Chant spirituals and bathe in the River Jordan
I will not forget the slaves sacrifice
I will write their memory in the minds of mortals
I will write me a world
    Where ghosts sling shackles
Dancing victorious across the graves of their captors
For I am the Last Revolutionary
Daughter of El Haj Malik Shabazz
Medgar Evers, Marcus Garvey, The Last Poets,Bobby Hutton, Angela Davis, Nikki Giovanni, Sonia Sanchez, Amiri Baraka, Gil Scott Heron, Arna Bontemps, James Baldwin, Richard Wright, Claude McKay, Cheik Anta Diop, Kwame Nkrumah, Bell Hooks and every Black man and Woman that shed their blood and tears for my existence
I will sprout ebony wings and glide effortlessly across the skies
Because Virginia told me, The People Could Fly
I will raise my fist and stand upon the Universe
Commanding the elements to bow down at the sound of my voice
I will not desecrate my temple
I am the Supreme instrument of the Most High
Sanctify me in the name of
Olodumare, Jah, Yeshua, Yahweh, Allah, The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit
I am the last breathe of Liberation
My mind is the Womb of all Creation
Calling forth the planets, suns, moons &stars
    As my sons and daughters
    Calling forth their collective consciousness
Calling forth the manifestation of their legacy
5 centuries of akashic memory unleashed
5 centuries of blood fury unleashed
5 centuries of karmic debt demanding payment
For every moment, my people remain oppressed
For every moment our collective greatness is repressed
I conjure resurrection life with divine lyrics
I infuse insurrection into broken spirits
My words paint the Universe in the shades of my pain
    My tears become heavenly rain
    Watering thirsty souls with Truth
    My spirit is Eternal
I am Wisdom that cries in the streets
I am the Knowledge your soul seeks
I speak the language of the Universe fluently
I am the chi balance of Shadow and Light
I split the seams of all Realities
I am every dream made Manifest
    I am Destiny
    I am Infinity
    I am the Last Thought
    The Last Word
    The Last Sound
Let no more poetry be written and spoken after I am silent
For I am the Last Poet
    Ase
