In an alcoholic haze he slammed her up against the wall
In his rage he didn't see the blood or hear her fall
In a crumpled heap on the floor she lay
Too scared to move or speak a word
And he stood there feeling ten feet tall

I waited in fear, hiding and hoping that he couldn't see
Too frightened to help her in case he turned on me
I listened to him bellow and rant and rave
Telling her she deserved everything she got
As I wished in vain that we were free

Then I heard footsteps echo loudly on the wooden floor
I heard the wood splinter as he broke down my door
Helpless, defenceless, he pulled me to my feet
Then he slapped my face with all his might
While I prayed to god he wouldn't hurt me anymore

Then I heard her screaming, she told him to turn around
I heard the shot she fired at him, I didn't make a sound
He lay there in a pile on my bedroom floor
Blood seeping from an open wound, river running red
And as befits the man he was, in his own blood, he drowned

So now we are free, no longer dwelling in a prison of pain
Our world is full of sunshine, not dark clouds and rain
While he, the keeper, the giver of hurt
Has gone to hell with Satan, where he belongs
To be tortured forever 'til he goes insane

    your encouragement

and positive comments warms my heart...

pd..thank you..it soothes my heart when someone appreciates my writing..for some reason I am drawn to writing about all forms of abuse..

Hunter..I thank you for reading and responding..and yes, if you're lucky and the words flow you can make people feel with the words..glad you liked it..

Rich.. I was lucky with this one, I used the right colours to paint and ended up with a picture everyone could see..

Cindy..no this is not a life experience, but abuse was, so I had first hand experience of the feelings..which makes it a case of putting them down in words..thanks for feelin it..

    i'm glad this wasn't a life experience...

to live, everyday, tortured and abused...isn't living. surviving the moment, thinking of the next PAIN that comes your way...feeling helpless...unable to end the torment...except....

    THANKS FOR SHARING.

    Hey

Rich..your words always bring a smile to my face...
    my heart thanks you..

baller..I have to agree..it's understandable how a soul can be pushed too far until suddenly, there is no room to turn around..
    thank you for feelin it...
