    I really started this thread to see if anyone knew any good books that deal with this topic. But I also wanted us to discuss sexual acts that were considered to be taboo and acceptable in various African societies

    I do know though, or think. At one time marriage was to just keep the lineage(name) pure(not sexual). And babymaking was just baby making (with choosen villagers) for it's sake. Mind was more of connection tool.

    lol...I feel that is the reality we deal with but as African people I think we should research the history of our sexuality through a African centered lense

    Read the "Sex Imperative" by A. Bomani Baruti. Isn't "sexual acts ...considered taboo and acceptable" an oxymoron? :(
